Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 August 2026
## 1. About us
These terms apply to purchases made through www.hiveandweald.co.uk.
The website and business are operated by Jack Styles, a sole trader trading as Hive&Weald, of 14 Sandeman Way, Biddenden, Kent, TN27 8HP, United Kingdom.
- Email: sales@hiveandweald.co.uk
- Telephone: 07305 192783
Please contact us if you think there is an error in these terms.
## 2. These terms and your statutory rights
These terms form the contract between you and us when we accept your order. They apply to consumers buying for personal use in the United Kingdom.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
## 3. Products and food information
We sell honey and other craft products. Product photographs and colours are illustrative; screens and natural variations can affect appearance. Handmade and natural products may have reasonable variations between batches.
Please read the product description, ingredients, allergen information, storage instructions, warnings, dimensions and other information shown on the product page and packaging before purchase or use. Contact us before ordering if you need additional allergen or ingredient information. Do not rely on website information as medical advice.
Honey is not suitable for infants under 12 months. Store and use food products in accordance with their labels. Natural crystallisation of honey is not normally a defect.
## 4. Ordering and contract formation
The website will allow you to review and correct your order before submitting it. By clicking the final payment button, you make an offer to buy the products and accept these terms.
An acknowledgement that we received your order does not necessarily mean it has been accepted. The contract is formed when we send an order confirmation accepting the order. Please save that confirmation and these terms.
If we cannot accept an order—for example because a product is unavailable, a price or description is materially incorrect, delivery is unavailable, or fraud checks are not satisfied—we will tell you and refund any amount taken.
We may limit quantities reasonably, including where we suspect resale, fraud or a pricing error.
## 5. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes. Hive&Weald is not currently VAT registered. Delivery charges and the total amount payable will be shown before you place the order.
Payment is taken through the payment methods offered at checkout. Payment services are supplied by Squarespace Payments and/or its supporting payment providers. We do not normally receive your full payment-card details.
If a price is obviously incorrect and you could reasonably have recognised the error, we may cancel the order and refund you.
## 6. Delivery
We deliver only to eligible United Kingdom addresses accepted at checkout. Any geographic exclusions and delivery charges will be shown before purchase.
Our usual delivery estimate is 3–5 working days. This is an estimate unless we expressly agree a fixed date. We will deliver without undue delay and, unless otherwise agreed, no later than 30 days after the contract is made.
We are responsible for goods until they are delivered to you or to a person you identify to receive them. If you provide an incorrect or incomplete address, you may be responsible for reasonable additional delivery costs.
Contact us if an order is late, missing or arrives damaged.
## 7. Your right to cancel
For most products bought online, you may cancel without giving a reason from the date the contract is formed until 14 days after you, or someone you nominate, receives the goods. For an order delivered in separate instalments, the period runs from receipt of the final instalment.
To cancel, send a clear statement to sales@hiveandweald.co.uk or to our postal address before the cancellation period expires. You may use the model form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to.
You must return cancelled goods within 14 days after telling us. Please contact us for return instructions and authorisation details. Requiring an authorisation helps us identify the return but does not remove a statutory cancellation right.
Unless the goods are faulty, not as described, or we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them. You should take reasonable care of the goods and obtain proof of postage. We may reduce a refund to reflect loss in value caused by handling beyond what would reasonably be permitted in a shop.
We will refund the product price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. We need not refund an additional amount paid for premium delivery. We will make the refund within 14 days after receiving the returned goods or, if earlier, receiving evidence that they were sent back. We use the original payment method unless agreed otherwise.
## 8. Exceptions to cancellation
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to:
- goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised;
- goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly; or
- sealed goods that are not suitable for return for genuine health-protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed,
where the relevant legal exception applies. A product is not treated as rapidly perishable merely because it is food. Ordinary shelf-stable honey will therefore normally carry the cancellation right described above.
These exceptions do not affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
## 9. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Please contact sales@hiveandweald.co.uk promptly with your order number and, where useful, photographs. We will provide reasonable return instructions and cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Consumer law may entitle you to reject qualifying faulty goods within 30 days, or to require repair or replacement and, in some circumstances, a price reduction or refund. Your precise remedy depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
## 10. Our 12-month warranty
In addition to your statutory rights, we warrant that craft products will be free from manufacturing defects for 12 months from delivery when used and cared for in accordance with their description and instructions.
This voluntary warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, failure to follow care instructions, or the inherent characteristics and reasonable variations of natural or handmade materials. Food products are governed by their product information, best-before date and your statutory rights rather than this craft-product warranty.
The warranty does not replace, restrict or shorten your statutory rights, which may continue beyond 12 months.
## 11. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of your statutory rights.
Products sold for domestic and private use must not be used for commercial, business or resale purposes. If you use them for such a purpose, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, business interruption or lost opportunity, except where the law does not permit that exclusion.
## 12. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and contact you where the delay is significant. If there is a substantial delay, you may contact us to cancel the affected order and receive a refund for products not supplied.
## 13. Personal information
We use personal information as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
## 14. Changes to these terms
The terms in force when we accept your order apply to that order. We may change these terms for future orders, including to reflect legal, technical or business changes. Please retain the version supplied with your order confirmation.
## 15. Other important terms
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
Our delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. You may not transfer the contract without our agreement. We may transfer our rights and obligations where this does not reduce your rights, and we will notify you where required.
The contract is between you and us. No other person has a right to enforce it, except where legislation provides otherwise.
## 16. Law and disputes
These terms and our contract are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts and retain any mandatory protections of the law that applies where you live.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint.
