This policy explains how Hive&Weald uses cookies and similar technologies on www.hiveandweald.co.uk.
Hive&Weald is the trading name of Jack Styles, a sole trader at 14 Sandeman Way, Biddenden, Kent, TN27 8HP. Contact us at sales@hiveandweald.co.uk or 07305 192783.
## 1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, including local storage, pixels and scripts, can perform related functions. Some are placed by us or Squarespace on our behalf (first-party cookies); others may be placed by another service (third-party cookies).
Cookies may last only for your browsing session or remain until their stated expiry or deletion.
## 2. How we use them
We group the technologies used on this website as follows:
| Category | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operate the website, shopping basket and checkout; maintain security; prevent fraud; balance traffic; remember privacy choices | No, where genuinely essential to a service you request |
| Analytics | Help us understand visits and website performance using Squarespace Analytics | Yes, unless a particular technology is lawfully exempt |
| Social media and external content | Load Instagram or Facebook content and enable interaction; Meta may also collect usage information | Yes |
We do not intend to use advertising or cross-site behavioural-targeting cookies. We will update this policy and our consent controls before introducing any such technology.
## 3. Current providers
The website uses or is intended to use:
- Squarespace for hosting, ecommerce, checkout, security, consent controls and basic analytics;
- Squarespace Payments and its supporting payment providers for payment and fraud-prevention functions; and
- Meta only where Instagram or Facebook embedded content is enabled.
The precise cookie names and lifetimes can change when these providers update their services. The live cookie-preference panel should display the current cookie list, provider, purpose and duration. Hive&Weald will audit that list before launch and after material website changes.
Mailchimp is used to manage email subscriptions. A simple newsletter form does not necessarily place Mailchimp cookies, but this policy and the consent panel must be updated if the implemented form or tracking configuration does so.
## 4. Your choices
When you first visit, you can accept all non-essential technologies, reject all non-essential technologies, or manage categories. Rejecting must be as easy as accepting. Non-essential technologies, including tracking from social-media embeds, must not load before consent.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the website footer. Withdrawal does not affect technologies used before it was withdrawn.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the basket, checkout or other requested functions from working.
## 5. Third-party information
Third-party providers may process information under their own privacy terms. Their services may involve processing outside the United Kingdom. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about recipients and international transfers.
## 6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our website, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear here with its revision date.
